Short-term joint staff training event in
Germany (June 2019) |
The first short-term joint staff training event will follow the second transnational project meeting and will allow for each IO leading partner to update on their progress and address any unexpected results, challenges and risks and troubleshoot solutions prior to the training event. The focus of the training event will be on the benefits of transnational knowledge transfer. This training will allow for transnational participants to share good practices and explore and identify what works to integrate cross-sectoral stakeholders in the CoP. Hosts and partners will prepare a full training agenda and will bring value to the project by building our network and familiarity with it (IO1), inputting and analysing each assessment outcomes (IO2 and IO3) and, finally by providing support in the scope and execution of the training component (IO4). These training events will focus both on awareness building of mental health in prison and resettlement, and actively encourage integration and cross-sectoral thinking. All training events will embark the following topics, crucial to the successful learning outcomes and added value of the project:
- Different sources and kinds of knowledge, methods and strategies to build awareness of mental health needs and cross sectoral integration in resettlement; - Transnational collaboration, and conception of innovative environments; - Integrated offender management and multi-agency partnership; - Core competencies related to daily work. The content and practical activities of this first short-term staff training will include an analysis around these topics: - Introduction to the mental health and drug treatment service providers (statutory and non-profit); - Transferring knowledge and good practice; - Networking, learning and knowledge transfer methods, critical points and challenges; - Innovative methodological and digital tools for integrating cross-sectoral colleagues. The training content will include presentations, open seminars, technical workshops, active methodologies, class sessions, case studies and study visits to places of interest – real case scenarios, whenever possible. The training will count with 18 participants selected based on the staff’s profile and its adequacy for the training rationale and objectives. |

Romania (April 2020) |
The second short-term joint staff training event will follow the National Multi-Agency Training and Integration Seminars, where the project’s progress will be reviewed against the initially established objectives, allowing for any setbacks on the development of IOs to be flagged and collaboratively solved, prior to the training event. This training event will focus on the results of the assessments developed in IO2 and IO3. The results will be presented to the participants and then analysed in collaboration, probing for learning, good practice and knowledge transfer. The participants target group will include prison staff, probation staff, mental health support staff (statutory and non-profit) and trainers from civil society organisations/ volunteer managers. All training events will embark the following topics, crucial to the successful learning outcomes and added value of the project:
- Different sources and kinds of knowledge, methods and strategies to build awareness of mental health needs and cross sectoral integration in resettlement; - Transnational collaboration, and conception of innovative environments; - Integrated offender management and multi-agency partnership; - Core competencies related to daily work. The content and practical activities of this first short-term staff training will include an analysis around these topics: - Introduction to the local (statutory and non-profit) mental health Criminal Justice System provider; - Outcomes of IO2 and IO3 needs assessment tools; - Networking, learning and knowledge transfer methods, critical points and challenges; - Innovative methodological and digital tools for integrating cross-sectoral colleagues based on the outcomes of IO2 and IO3. The training will count with 18 participants selected based on the staff’s profile and its adequacy for the training rationale and objectives. |

Greece (September 2020) |
The third short-term joint staff training event will focus on the training material component and on how this material will be embedded in the CoP developed in IO1. The focus will also continue to be not only on mental health along the CJS and on release, but also on examples and methods of cross-sectoral integration for greater efficiency and effectiveness. All training events will embark the following topics, crucial to the successful learning outcomes and added value of the project:
- Different sources and kinds of knowledge, methods and strategies to build awareness of mental health needs and cross sectoral integration in resettlement; - Transnational collaboration, and conception of innovative environments; - Integrated offender management and multi-agency partnership; - Core competencies related to daily work. The content and practical activities of this first short-term staff training will include an analysis around these topics: - Dealing with stigmatisation in a novel way; - New methodologies and the benefits and challenges of the CoP, and how these are related to the data from IO2 and IO3; - Networking, learning and knowledge transfer methods, critical points and challenges; - Innovative methodological and digital tools for integrating cross-sectoral colleagues based on the training material component and the CoP. The training will count with 21 participants selected based on the staff’s profile and its adequacy for the training rationale and objectives. |
